It’s July! Here are some things you can be doing with the kids in the garden over the summer holidays:-
– Sow green manure in bare areas of soil
– Thin out seedlings sown outdoors if necessary
– Keep crops watered if it becomes dry and sunny – remember to water in early morning or in the evening
– Mulch between plants, making sure the soil is damp first
– Harvest crops that are ready – French beans, carrots, lettuce, overwintering onions, peas and early potatoes.
